Applications for mini school grants to help implement waste reduction and recycling programs on their campuses due.  In response to a survey of schools last year, the Flathead County Solid Waste District, through the Waste Not Project, will be making available four $500 mini grants annually. Schools are also encouraged to seek matching grant funds to increase the impact of this program. For a printable version of the application form, please click here.

 EVERY FOURTH TUESDAY OF THE MONTH
The Flathead County Solid Waste District meets at the District office at the Flathead County Landfill at 5p.m. Public comment is always first on the agenda.  Call 756-5910.

EVERY THIRD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH
Drop off of household hazardous wastes at the county landfill, by appointment only so you don’t have to wait in line! Call 758-5910 Accepting: Oil based paints; solvents; strippers; pool/spa chemicals; pesticides/herbicides; fertilizers; cleaners/ poisons.

WINTER/SPRING
Master Recycling Program offered for schools K-12 and community groups.  Call to schedule a lively-hands-on presentation; 756-8993

SPRING
Tours of Flathead County Landfill and Compost Garden offered. On site hand-on activities for students. Call to schedule a tour; 756-8993.

Annual Small Business Hazardous Waste Collection event.
