Reduce Your Use of Office Paper
* The average office worker uses 10,000 sheets of office paper per year.
Use both sides of the paper, print faxes on half-used paper, use inter-
and intra-office envelopes for mailing documents, and use e-mail and
electronic media.
Buy Green for Your Office
* Reduce waste and save money. Examples of 'green products' that your
office could invest in are paper made of recycled materials and reusable
office supplies i.e. refillable pens and pencils
Use Green Printing Standards
* Print on both sides of the paper and print only as many copies as
you really need. Have printers and copiers with a duplex option.
Manage Your Office Building Better
* Use energy efficient office machines and lighting, building materials
that are non-toxic and made of recycled or recyclable materials, and
having office-wide recycling and composting are ways to ensure the health
of your works and the environment.
The Green Star Program
* Sets standards and offers workshops and technical assistance to help
businesses incorporate techniques of waste reduction, energy conservation
and pollution prevention into their daily business activities. http://www.greenstarinc.org/

to host this program for the Flathead Valley. Call them at 756-8993
for more information.
