Reduce Waste

Mary Jo Gardner2“Reduce” is perhaps the most important and the most often forgotten of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Reduction is the most efficient, inexpensive, and environmentally sound way of managing our solid waste. When you avoid making garbage in the first place, you don’t have to worry about disposing of waste or recycling it later.

Reducing the amount and type of materials you use in everyday life makes a big difference to the volume of waste that goes in our landfill. Consider the amount of energy used in creating just the packaging materials for so many of our products!
